Domino, also known as dominoes, is an addictive board game in which players line up tiles along the edge of a table and move a single one causing others to fall with it – creating an amazing domino effect that is mesmerizing to watch! In business parlance, domino effect serves as a metaphor for how one action can have far reaching ripple effects – so understanding it as a leader is vitally important.
The term domino first entered English around 1750 and its precise origin remains ambiguous, though its possible link to French word for cape may provide clues as its original domino pieces featured ebony blacks with ivory faces.
Early 20th-century domino became a widely played parlour game. Players would take turns placing tiles against one another to form patterns or combinations; as more tiles were added, players scored points by completing these combinations faster than their opponents did. Domino is still played today with different rules and variations on its basic theme.
Domino may be best known as the name of a game, but its use has extended far beyond this realm in Marvel Universe lore. Domino is frequently applied to other aspects of life; one example would be mutant character Domino who uses her superhuman luck powers to change odds in her favor in stressful situations, such as a fight or escape attempt; these unconsciously controlled abilities are known as domino luck and often refereed to by that name.
After being plucked back from Halloween Jack and returned to her normal timeline, Domino continued her career as a mercenary for Hong Kong X-Corp and the X-Men. She helped stop Donald Pierce and Lady Deathstrike from downloading Milo Thurman’s mind onto a computer; unfortunately this effort eventually caused his death. Additionally Domino has worked for both the CIA and Weapon X (mutant resistance organization). She served alongside Cable in Weapon X.
Domino joined Shatterstar and Caliban during M-Day to free mutants detained by the Office of National Emergency (ONE). She then joined Six Pack, where she battled John Sublime’s Third Species before eventually being recruited by Bridge to join S.H.I.E.L.D. She later joined forces with them in helping stop any attempts at the destruction of Rumekistan or Providence (Cable’s paradise island), though she became briefly under the control of Aentaros during this mission. After her conflict with Randall Shire, Cable defanged Aentaros and sent Domino back into her original timeline. Since then she has rejoined X-Force and currently belongs to the CIA – being both skilled in martial arts, weapons knowledge, linguistic ability and being precognitive – making her one of its members. She can see into the future.
